What does link in bio mean?
"Link in bio" means: tap the link in my profile to find what I mentioned. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube keep clickable links in the profile, so creators point there, and that link opens one page with everything else. A link in bio store goes one step further: people can buy, book a call or join your list right on that page. Set one up in four steps:
- Pick a template made for a phone screen.
- Add your links and one thing to sell: a guide, a template, a call.
- Connect Stripe or PayPal so the money goes straight to you.
- Paste the address into your Instagram, TikTok and YouTube profiles.
Where is the link in bio on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube?
On every app it sits on the profile, under the name and the bio text. Visitors tap it there; you add it in the profile settings.
| App | Where visitors tap it | How you add it | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profile, under the bio | Edit profile, then Links, then Add external link | Up to five links, no follower minimum. | |
| TikTok | Profile, under the bio | Edit profile, then Add next to Links | Personal accounts from 1,000 followers; many creators switch to a free Business Account. |
| YouTube | Channel page, under the channel name | Customise channel, then Links | Put your link in bio address first, so it is the one people see. |

Tell people what they get, then where: "Free planner π π in bio". π and π are the usual link in bio emoji; one or two is enough. And keep the thing you mention at the top of your page, so nobody has to hunt for it.
Everything your followers came for, on one page
Most free link in bio tools list links. A link in bio that sells keeps people on your page from the tap to the purchase, so you do not lose them on the way to a separate shop.

How to make a link in bio page on Sellwares
The page is live the moment you sign up; selling takes one more step, because a shop never goes live without a way to pay you.
Create your free account
Sign up with Google, Facebook or your email. Your page gets its own Sellwares address at once.
Choose a link in bio template
Pick one of the ten, then add, move or hide blocks: links, products, booking times, email sign-up, video, gallery, posts, social icons, tip jar.
Add your links and your first product
Paste your links and give each a clear label. Upload a file or set up a call and give it a price.
Connect how you get paid
Stripe, PayPal and Mollie connect in one click through their own login; Revolut takes one key. The money goes to your account; we never hold it.
Put the link in your profiles
Instagram: Edit profile, then Links. TikTok: Edit profile, then Add next to Links (from 1,000 followers on a personal account). YouTube: Customise channel, then Links. On a paid plan, use your own domain instead.
Free link in bio tools: what each one keeps when you sell
Every tool here is free to start. The difference shows when you sell: the platform fee on one $20 sale, before the card or PayPal fee that every tool passes on. At 50 sales of $20 a month, a 12% fee is $120 a month.
| Tool and plan | Monthly price | Fee per sale | Platform fee on $20 | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sellwares Free | β¬0 | 0% | $0.00 | Up to 3 products, checkout on your page, paid to your own Stripe, PayPal, Mollie or Revolut. |
| Sellwares Creator | β¬29 | 0% | $0.00 | Unlimited products, your own domain, email automation. |
| Linktree Free | $0 | 12% | $2.40 | Unlimited basic links. Plus Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30. |
| Linktree Pro | $14 yearly, $17 monthly | 0% | $0.00 | Removes Linktree branding; Starter ($7) adds a personalised page. |
| Beacons Free | $0 | 9% | $1.80 | Unlimited digital products, media kit, 50 email sends a month. |
| Beacons Creator Plus | $25 yearly, $30 monthly | 0% | $0.00 | The $10 Creator plan still has a 9% fee. |
| Stan Store Creator | $29 | 0% | $0.00 | No free plan. Creator Pro is $99 a month for funnels, order bumps and pixels. |

A percentage grows with every sale; a flat plan does not. On Sellwares the free plan already sells with a 0% fee, and the paid plans add room to grow, not a smaller cut.
Who clicks your link in bio?
Instagram does not show you the people who tap your link. Your link in bio page can count the taps instead, so you know which post, app and link brings buyers.
- Every tap counted: each link goes through its own short address that counts the tap by where it came from (bio, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, email, QR code) and by device. Nothing about the person is kept.
- A QR code for every link: for a stall, a flyer or the end card of a video.
- UTM tags added for you, so your shop and Google Analytics see the same source.
- Affiliate links done right: a disclosure on the page and a deal code to show.
How to choose the best link in bio tool
Lists of the "best free link in bio tools" mostly compare themes. If you plan to earn from your page, check these six things first.
What it keeps from a sale
A free plan that takes 9-12% of each sale is the most expensive plan you can be on once you sell. Look for 0% on the plan you will actually use.
Whether checkout stays on your page
Every extra tap loses buyers. Paying on the same page, without an account, keeps them.
Who gets the buyer's email
Your buyers' emails should be yours to export and write to, not only the platform's.
Your own domain
yourname.com in a bio looks like a business and stays yours if you ever change tools.
Speed on a phone
Nearly every bio link is tapped on a phone, often on mobile data. A heavy page loses people before it loads.
Room to grow
Today a few links; later a course, a membership, booked calls, email automation and ad tracking. Moving tools later costs you links in old posts.
Do you need a website as well?
For most creators, no. A link in bio page is a website: one page, made for the visitor who arrives from a profile on a phone. What it needs is what a website needs: a clear name, what you offer, a way to buy, and a way to stay in touch.
When you outgrow one page, the same Sellwares store becomes the website: product pages, a blog-style list of posts, a course area and your own domain, without moving anything.
Tools that grow every tap
- Order bump: one tick at checkout adds a second product, same single payment.
- One-click upsell after payment, on the card they just used.
- Discount codes with an end date, for launches and live streams.
- Email automation to welcome new subscribers and buyers (Creator plan and up).
- Ad tracking for Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, Pinterest and six more.
- Moving in: products from Beacons, Stan Store, Gumroad and more come across with the migration tool.
Questions about link in bio tools
What does link in bio mean?
"Link in bio" means: tap the link in my profile to find what I mentioned. Creators say it because the profile is the place on the app made for links. That link usually opens one page that lists everything else.
What is a link in bio?
A link in bio is the web address you put in your social media profile. Most apps give you room for one, or a few, so it points to a single page that lists everything else: your links, your newest work, and, on a link in bio store, the products and calls people can buy.
Where is the link in bio on Instagram?
On the profile, just under the name and the bio text. Tap it to open the page. Instagram lets you add up to five links under Edit profile, then Links, then Add external link; anyone, on or off Instagram, can see them.
Does Instagram tell you who clicks the link in your bio?
Instagram does not show you the people who tap your link. Your link in bio page can count the taps instead: Sellwares counts every tap on every link by where it came from (bio, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, email, QR code) and by device, never by person.
Which emoji is used for link in bio?
The usual ones are π (link) and π (pointing down to the profile), as in "Free guide π π in bio". Keep it to one or two so the words still say what people get.
What is the best free link in bio tool for selling?
For selling, look at what the free plan keeps from each sale, not only the price. Sellwares Free is β¬0 a month with a 0% transaction fee, up to 3 products and instant delivery. On their free plans Linktree keeps 12% of a digital sale and Beacons keeps 9%. Every tool also passes on the card or PayPal fee.
Is Linktree free?
Linktree has a free plan with unlimited basic links. Selling on it costs a 12% Linktree fee per digital product sale plus Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30. Linktree's pricing lists 0% selling fees from the Pro plan, $14 a month billed yearly or $17 monthly.
Can I sell digital products from my link in bio?
Yes. On Sellwares the products sit on the same page as your links: buyers tap, pay by card, PayPal or wallet without making an account, and get the file at once. You can also sell courses, memberships and 1:1 calls from the same page.
How do I add a link to my TikTok bio?
In the TikTok app tap Profile, then Edit profile, then Add next to Links, paste your link in bio address and save. TikTok shows this option on personal accounts from 1,000 followers; many creators switch to a free Business Account instead. Instagram has no follower limit: Edit profile, then Links.
Can I use my own domain for my link in bio?
Yes, on any paid Sellwares plan. You can connect a domain you own or buy one inside Sellwares; it goes live with HTTPS in about ninety seconds. On the free plan your page has its own Sellwares address.
Can I move from Linktree, Beacons or Stan Store?
Beacons and Stan Store products come across with the Sellwares migration tool, which shows a dry run before anything is saved. A Linktree page is a list of links, so moving it means adding those links again, usually a few minutes. Then change the link in your profiles.
Do my buyers need an account to buy?
No. Checkout is guest checkout. Buyers pay, get their purchase at once and receive a magic link to come back to it later. There are no passwords for them to remember.
