Every Etsy fee, explained

Listing fee: $0.20

You pay $0.20 each time you publish a listing on Etsy. A listing lasts four months and then renews automatically for another $0.20 unless you switch renewal to manual. If you sell several of the same item from one listing, Etsy charges another $0.20 each time one sells, because the listing renews. Editing a listing is free.

Transaction fee: 6.5%

Etsy takes 6.5% of the price you show, plus what you charge for shipping and gift wrapping. For US sellers it does not apply to sales tax. Outside the US it applies to the listing price including the taxes you are responsible for.

Payment processing fee: 3% + $0.25 in the US

Every order paid through Etsy Payments has a processing fee. It depends on where your bank account is:

Your bank accountProcessing fee
United States3% + $0.25
United Kingdom4% + £0.20
Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Ireland4% + €0.30
Canada (international orders)4% + C$0.25
Australia (domestic orders)3% + A$0.25
India5% + ₹25

The processing fee is charged on the whole order, including tax and shipping.

Offsite Ads fee: 12% or 15%

Etsy buys ads for listings on sites like Google and social media. If a buyer clicks one of those ads and orders from your shop within 30 days, you pay an Offsite Ads fee on that order. Shops with under $10,000 in sales over the past year pay 15% and can opt out. Once a shop passes $10,000, the fee drops to 12%, but the shop can no longer opt out, for the life of the shop. The fee per order is capped at $100.

Other Etsy fees

  • Currency conversion: 2.5%, when your listing currency differs from your payment account currency.
  • Regulatory operating fee: a fixed percentage in some countries, listed in Etsy's help center.
  • Etsy Plus: $10 a month, which includes 15 listing credits (worth $3) and $5 in Etsy Ads credit each month.
  • Pattern: $15 a month after a 30-day trial, for a separate website built from your Etsy shop.
  • Etsy Ads: a daily budget you choose, only if you advertise inside Etsy.
  • Set-up fee: some new sellers pay a one-time fee when opening a shop; Etsy shows it during sign-up.

Total fees$2.35 (11.75%)

How to pay lower Etsy fees

  1. Price for the fees. Work out your price with about 12% for Etsy fees, plus your costs, before you list.
  2. Watch Offsite Ads. Under $10,000 a year you can opt out in your shop settings. Check how many orders they bring before you decide.
  3. Use one listing for variations (sizes, colours) instead of a listing for each, to save listing fees.
  4. Turn off auto-renew for slow sellers, so you don't pay $0.20 every four months for items that rarely sell.
  5. Sell repeat buyers off Etsy. Etsy is good at finding first buyers. For people who already know you, your own store has no listing or transaction fee.

Where Sellwares fits

Many Etsy sellers keep Etsy for discovery and send their followers to their own store. On Sellwares there is no listing fee and no transaction fee on any plan; you only pay your own card provider, and the buyer's email is yours. It works best for digital products, courses and coaching, and the free plan includes 3 products. See how to sell digital products from your own store, or put it in your link in bio.

What we found in the top results

We reviewed the pages Google ranks first for "etsy fees" on 30 October 2026. A video and a Reddit thread sit near the top, and most written pages list the fees without doing the sums. Few show what a seller keeps on an actual order, the full processing fee table by country, or the Offsite Ads rule that becomes mandatory above $10,000. Those are the parts sellers ask about most, so we put them first.
